The design is a tribute to the pure plane: black glass and brushed aluminum merge into a horizontal, serene surface with no visible buttons. Even the CD and cassette covers slide silently to the side, without rising above the surface. All operation is via “sensi-touch” – only the relevant functions light up when they are needed. A magic mirror where technology and aesthetics meet. The Beocenter 9000 was a further development of the ideas from the Beomaster 1900 and Beogram CDX, and marked a breakthrough in usability and design. Microprocessors and context-sensitive operation made it possible to hide complexity and show only what was necessary. With a built-in CD player, cassette deck with Dolby B/C, auto reverse and a sophisticated AM/FM tuner, the Beocenter 9000 was technically advanced – yet incredibly easy to use. It was also ready for remote control and multi-room integration via the Beolink system. Beocenter 9000 was originally designed for passive speakers like the Beovox RL60, but today it also works perfectly with active Beolab speakers. Using the Neo Hub Retro or Neo Hub Pro from Neomesteren You can easily connect Beocenter 9000 to modern active speakers, and experience the sound of your classic sources – CD, radio and cassette – in full quality, without compromise. The Beocenter 9000 was later further developed into the Beocenter 9500 and 9300 – but the basic idea still stands as one of B&O's most visionary designs: a magical combination of form, function and future-proof philosophy. |

The mirror-like surface effectively concealed the advanced technology inside. Centrally located was the AM/FM radio, while the CD player and cassette recorder discreetly waited their turn – a light touch on the glass surface caused the lid to slide to the side, providing direct access to the media. The operation was intuitive and elegant, exactly as you would expect from Bang & Olufsen. Behind the aesthetic exterior were a number of technical improvements. The Beocenter 9500 was equipped with two-way infrared communication and could therefore work seamlessly with the Beolink 5000 remote control – both in the main room and in other connected rooms via the Beolink system. Power Linkconnector made it possible to connect active speakers directly, and the internal amplifier was upgraded from 30W to 40W per channel, benefiting both active and passive speakers like the Beovox series. During production, the CD drive was technically updated, but retained its characteristic radial-tracking laser arm. The cassette mechanism was simplified from a three-motor design to a single motor – the same solution later used in the Beocenter 2500 and 2300. A matching Beogram 9500 turntable was offered in the same high-gloss finish. Like previous models in the series, two simpler and more affordable versions were also launched: the Beocenter 8500 and 8000. The entire series was replaced by the Beocenter 1994 in 9300. Beocenter 9500 also works perfectly with Neo Radio from Neomesteren, which provides access to modern internet radio and streaming via the classic Masterlinksystem – an ideal way to breathe new life into a legendary music system. |
