How to mount the Neo Avant Kit 85 on a Beovision Avant stand
Beovision Avant 85″ was a ground-breaking TV from Bang & Olufsen. However, over time, lack of spare parts and high repair costs may make it necessary to upgrade.
The Neo Avant Kit 85 allows you to reuse the iconic motorized stand from the Beovision Avant 85″ with a new TV that has modern functions and apps.
This guide will help you mount the Neo Avant Kit 85, including attaching the bracket and VESA plate, so you can install a new TV on the stand and maintain the exclusive B&O experience.

Assembly steps
1. Remove the old TV from the stand
- Switch off the TV and disconnect the power and signal cables.
- Loosen the screws securing the old TV to the stand.
- Carefully remove the TV and set it aside. There must be at least 2 people to remove the TV.
2. Prepare the stand
- Clean the stand and remove any remaining brackets or fasteners from the old TV.
- Check that the stand still works mechanically by testing the rotation.
- Remove the old bracket from the stand and set it aside
3. Fitting the Neo Avant brackets
- Place the Neo Avant 85 bracket on the stand where the previous bracket was attached.
- Use the supplied screws to securely fasten the bracket.
- Make sure the bracket is level before fully tightening the screws.
4. Mounting the VESA plate
- Attach the VESA plate to the new TV.
NOTE – The VESA bracket must be fitted to the TV before it is fitted to the stand - Check that the VESA plate is securely attached and that it fits the Neo Avant bracket.
5. Mounting the new TV on the stand
- Check that the TV is stable and not loose
- Lift the new TV (with the VESA plate attached) and place it on the Neo Avant bracket.
- Attach the TV and the VESA plate to the Neo Avant Kit 85 with the supplied screws and retaining plate.
- Check that the TV is level before tightening the screws
How to complete the installation steps for the Neo Avant Kit 85
Once you have removed the old B&O Avant 85″ TV from the stand and set it aside, you are ready to remove the suspension bracket for the B&O TV
The old suspension bracket only fits a Bang & Olufsen Avant 85″ TV, so it should no longer be used, but for good measure it makes sense to save it.
After removing the original suspension bracket, you are ready to mount the Neo Avant Kit 85. Before you start attaching the new TV, check that the stand is level and that the adjustment screws under the stand are correctly adjusted. Check whether the stand is stable and secure.
Check that you have received the correct parts and that they are ready for assembly on the Avant stand.
Note that the parts must be assembled correctly. There is a rebate and a groove that must fit together. This ensures that the parts are correctly centered and level together.
You are now ready to mount the Neo Avant Kit on the stand.
Carefully assemble these 2 items (part no. 1 and 2) and attach them to the stand with a screw.
Install the screw with your fingers and do not tighten completely yet.
Note - you must ensure that the holes in the large block (no. 1) fit the holes in the stand - check this.
Also check that the groove and fold in the large block (no. 1) match the upper part (no. 2)
Mount – by hand – screw 6 above screw 5. Adjust the curved top part (2) in place and tighten the screws with your fingers.
Mount the two screws (5) under the curved top part (no. 2) - but only loosen them by hand so that it is still possible to mount the bottom part.
Then mount the wide plate (no. 3) at the bottom with the 2 screws (no. 5)
Tighten the screws by hand.
Align parts fully into place so that it fits together and tighten the screws by hand all the way.
Now use a screwdriver and tighten the Neo Avant Kit completely - tighten.
Do not use an electric screwdriver - it will damage the screw head and may damage the Neo Avant Kit brackets.

Newer TVs have holes on the back of the TV for a VESA plate. The VESA standard describes that the holes must be spaced e.g. 200 mm apart or 300 mm apart. That part is standardized - but then it also stops here.
There are many different makes of TV - eg LG, Samsung, Philips, Loewe, Sony or Panasonic (and many more), so there are many options for placing the VESA holes.

The VESA plate is here attached to the Neo Avant Kit to illustrate the method and make the method visible.
The VESA plate must be attached to your TV BEFORE you put it on the stand and Neo Avant Kit - otherwise it will be unnecessarily difficult to attach the TV to the VESA plate.

The last steps are VERY important!
TV with VESA plate must be attached to the Neo Avant Kit in a secure way so that the TV does not fall off during daily use.
This is done with a retaining plate (no. 4 - see picture above).
The plate is fastened with 2 screws and it sits between the VESA plate and the TV.
In the pictures below, this is shown without the TV, which makes it easier to show the practical installation.
When the TV and VESA plate are clamped together, it takes some time to mount it. Do it carefully.
- Insert the screw back into the bracket (no. 3) from behind and through the hole in the VESA plate.
- Grasp the Retaining Plate (no. 4) with one hand and hold it in front of the hole.
- Tighten the screw from behind with a screwdriver so that the screw catches the thread of the Retaining Plate (no. 4).
- Do not tighten it completely, but leave it loose.
- Now you have to attach the hanger on the other side – it's not quite easy when the TV is on.
- Use a wooden stick, a wooden ruler or the end of a ruler to push the Retaining Plate (No. 4) all the way up in front of the second hole.
- Fit the screw in the other side.
- Before you tighten both screws, check that the TV is level with a spirit level.
- Tighten both screws securely.
- Now you are done and your TV is completely fixed and secure.
